Two Cents Tuesday: Bienvenidos a Bogotá!

Two Cents Tuesday: Bienvenidos a Bogotá!

I'm 2 for 2 for getting sick during the first week of each new city.  Had quite a reaction to the altitude (severe fatigue and just not feeling myself), then enter sketchy empanada and chugging pepto bismol all night long like it was the elixir of life. I pretty much did not see the light of day today, but feel a little better after some R&R and a piece of toast. MUST get better before the weekend...so much planned!

My two cents as outlined by the BRAT diet:

Bogotá is very different than CDMX. It feels like an actual city and you can easily find yourself in some questionable areas. Someone in our group has already been yelled at by her doorman for walking solo from her uber to the door of her building. Not to worry though, I feel super safe in my neighborhood and am about 100ft. from an organic food store (if that tells you anything about where I'm living).

Ramen is good for the sick soul. Also good for making you feel like you're back in college.

Accommodations for this month are pretty bomb. See below for the walkthrough of my new pad, complete with waterfall shower and king size bed.

This month will probably involve lots of partying/clubbing/dancing, but I've been reminded to remember why we're here and why we chose to be a part of this experience. For me, this isn't a sabbatical, but a year to learn about myself and how I can handle even the heaviest of burdens without giving up. Sickness is inevitable and sadness is going to raise its head, but when facing adversity, how will I turn it into a positive? How will I grow? What do I want to get out of this year? T-minus 11 months to find the answers to these questions.

For now, I'm going to Netflix and chill while everyone is at Bogotá orientation since I still haven't gotten out of bed today
