It’s a Saturday. I’m back in Bali, on Nusa Lembongan, looking out at the waves breaking over the Devil’s Tear. I splurged and had a glass of wine at 3:30.
California born, Carolina raised. Globetrotting with Remote Year & documenting my adventures. I like chardonnay & electronic music.

This month started out hard for many reasons. Number one being the end of my paid sabbatical-of-growth-and-revelations is getting too close for comfort.
Hola from Asia! (Pretty sure I’m never going to stop speaking Spanglish…)
You know I’ve been busy when you haven’t heard from me in a while.
I’ve seen a lot over the past couple of months. You name it, it’s happened
In the words of my Uber driver: “Welcome to Praha!” Which I actually do not get at all (Prague? Praha? Which is it?). But then again, the language here is very much not like Spanish, and after 6 months in Spanish-speaking countries, we’re all struggling a bit.
How often do you find yourself thinking, “this is one of the best days of my life.”? I’ve been lucky to have more than a handful of these moments while on Remote Year, but I had one the other day that I want to remember forever.
Buenos Aires is culturally invigorating and wonderful. From an assimilation standpoint, it’s a good thing we lived in Cordoba before coming here because it enabled us to preview the very unique, Argentine lifestyle before fully immersing ourselves. After only two weeks, I’ve completely rearranged my rankings of the cities and countries we’ve been in.
I’ve been given an assignment.
“I need you to tell me why you liked LATAM”
I guess I should probably tell you all about Mendoza…
Córdoba is weird as shit. This college town teeming with young people has tapped into my inner indie-punk and I’m loving it. We have thrown it way back to the 90s (enter: extreme platform shoes, DVD rental stores, and roller-skates) - I even whipped out the bell-bottoms and Volcom tee last weekend.
I meant to post this Tuesday, but fell asleep with my computer in my lap because I was getting up early to go SURFING in the morning. I won't brag, buuutttt I DID get up on every wave (pretty sure I can now put 'surfer girl' in my insta bio).
Once again we've reached the end of the month and I'm wondering how it slipped away so fast. I have officially fallen in love with another city: Medellin has stolen a piece of my heart, and I'm not sure what will be left of me at the end of the year.
Well, what do ya know, I missed two cents Tuesday again. Its early Wednesday morning and I'm sitting on a call I never talk on, looking out the open porch door at our array of potted plants (it rained last night so it's chillier than usual today), drinking coffee with milk for the first time in 6 months. Black is better.
I keep forgetting to post because of two reasons: 1) work, and 2) Remote Year is now real life. As much as I feel like I'm on a constant vacation, I'm not, and I'm working, and I'm sleeping, and I'm being lazy some nights
After a weekend celebrating Carnaval and a short vacay in Cartagena, we arrived safely in Medellín (dear Mom: It's not spelled 'Medinne'). I skipped a week of writing because, well, you'll see when I post pics.
Bogotá has flown by but I'm surprisingly glad to spend another month in Colombia. Next on the itinerary is Barranquilla for Carnaval and then a week in the beach town of Cartagena.
This past week (my last full week here) has certainly influenced how I feel about Bogotá. In Mexico I did a ton of activities that got me out of the house and deep into Mexican life and culture. Of course, my getting sick did hinder my desire to explore towards the beginning of this month, but I recovered it after this weekend.
So I had a completely different post already drafted, but it's February 14th (dreaded for all us singles) and I felt it necessary to share what I was lucky to be a part of today.
I'm a day late with my two cents, lo siento. I got busy doing actual activities yesterday since I was sick AGAIN over the weekend. Still unsure of the culprit. Altitude? Food?
